Misthaven
Farms

Welcome

Welcome to our home. Misthaven was built in 1998 using oak trees blown over by a storm. My Father dragged the trees with his tractor and his brother sawed them in his sawmill. My friend Dale Wagner helped me take a sketch from a piece of notebook paper to reality. My son, crawled, climbed and did whatever else needed to be done to help out. I even learned how to pour cement and make side walks and rock steps.

Farm Implements in the Mist

Most of the large stones that are used in the fireplace in the front steps and the side walks were taken from the homestead of my great uncle Percy. The aged oak that we used to trim the entire house and our kitchen cabinets was taken from his barn.

Dogs

Currently we have three dogs. Our baby Brooke who is a black lab mix and is entirely too smart for her own good. She pretty much rules the house. Brook The next is Goldie our Golden Retriever mix who showed up here one day starved to death and looking like she had been hit by a car. GoldieThe last but not least is Morgan our Newfoundland mix who I rescued on the day he was supposed to be put down. No one wanted to adopt a big dog and I saw him and just melted at his beautiful brown eyes.

Cats

Right now we have three cats. Nermal, who is going on 20 years old. Shadow who is a bit younger, maybe 18. Bobbie who is an outside cat and belongs to my cat allergic husband Ed.

Donkey

FestusOur newest addition is named Festus. He's a miniature donkey that we adopted. He's so spoiled. My father spends the afternoon talking to him and sneaking him apples. We are trying to get him a house and fence so that he can have his own place. He's called a Jesus donkey because cross on backof the cross on his back.
